The glorious rains of autumn have set in, maybe for good. Our alblum is officially o.u.t., and we’re trying to round up transport for our Fall Toor. Nobody in the band has a vehicle big enough to carry the band and the gear simultaneously. Maybe we’ll just send the amps and the drumkit on the road. Or with today’s fuel prices, a capacious oxcart may be our best bet. Free grazing is available on highway medians across the land, at least until the snow flies. And the leisurely pace would leave us plenty of time to ponder the question, Why are we in Afghanistan?

Okay, we’ve been doing this for quite a while now. We got together again back in the spring of 2005 and started working on songs, recording, playing shows in Vancouver and other western Canadian metropolises. Now we’re poised on the brink of our first release of new material since 1982: a brand new full-length CD, New Dark Age Parade, to be available September 15 on G7 Welcoming Committee Records in Canada and Alternative Tentacles Records in the U.S. Fourteen new songs, call it fourteen new attempts to make sense of what the world has become. Stepping up now and trying to continue what we started way back then may earn us some blank looks, but it’s been feeling pretty obvious so far. What would the modern world be if there were no place for subhumans in it?

Right now, we’re sweating through the summer at our luxurious rehearsal space in beautiful downtown Langley, B.C., getting ready for a fall tour of Canada. Before that, we’ll be playing at the Wise Hall in Vancouver, on Saturday, August 26, with a host of other bands – further details to follow.
